Then and Now - Katy Skinner Higgins

After her high school days as DECA president and a debate team member, she went on to do just a little bit of everything and is now the co-owner of Exit Only Entertainment.

“After high school, I got my certification as an American Sign Language interpreter. I did that for a while when I met my first husband Charlie in 2006. I quit when I gave birth to my twins Zack and Emma in October of 2008. I was a stay-at-home mom while my husband Charlie worked for North Salt Lake Police. In November 2008, Charlie was killed in the line of duty due to a fleeing suspect in a stolen vehicle. In 2010 I met my husband James. He had formed the company Exit Only Entertainment a few years prior and was mainly operating in Idaho, where he lived. We married and decided to team up and move the company to Utah. ”

Exit Only Entertainment specializes in corporate event sound and light, sound mixing, videos, music editing and special effects. As co-owner, Katy manages their website, advertising and events, while her husband operates the equipment.

“I love everything about our company. I have always had a huge love of music so that part is fun. We get to be there for a lot of people’s best moments. How can you not love that? It’s great to know that our company is ours and the possibilities are endless.”

We are excited that Katy and James are providing their equipment and time to ensure that our reunion is an event we will never forget. Exit Only Entertainment will be providing all of the lighting, sound equipment, projector and video for the evening – you won’t want to miss it! Katy said she is excited to share her passion for her company with our high school class.

A huge thanks to Katy and James! We can’t wait to see your company in action on Saturday.

Change in location announcement!

Our reunion is less than 2 weeks away … and we have some news to share about a change in location!

Our reunion will now be held at:

North Canyon Park
Small Bowery by the sand volleyball courts
3900 S. Bountiful Blvd.

We are excited about this change, and here’s why:

·       It’s free to attend!
Don’t worry - if you’ve already registered and paid, you will be refunded in full in 5-7 days.

·       It’s fun and entertaining!
We will have the same great reunion, the same awesome people (You!), with dessert and raffle ticket prizes, but in a more casual and fun environment. Exit Only Entertainment, co-owned by classmate Katy Skinner Higgins, will still provide event sound, video and lighting, and classmate Brady McDonald will play some throwback tunes of 2003.

·       It’s delicious!
COLD STONE agreed to still cater for our event! If you or a guest want some ice cream, you can buy some at the reunion. Pretty sweet deal!

So bring a few bucks along for some Cold Stone deliciousness and raffle tickets for a chance to win some great prizes.

We look forward to seeing you there! Spread the word!

Remember this?

This was the last day I saw most of you. Aside from the occasional bump-ins when I come home every Christmas, I haven't seen very many people from high school since graduation. I definitely hope it won't be the last time - I have many great memories, which you are all a part of.

I do hope you will all come to the reunion. That's why we are doing ONE LAST PROMOTION. From now until May 20th, you can get a discount when you use the promo code "wildcats." Just do it and share it with your friends.

PS - Who remembers who spoke at graduation and who the valedictorians are? The only thing I remember is that the madrigals sang "And so it goes." Someone fill in the gaps in my memory, please!

Only a Few More Hours Till Early Registration is Up!

Hey Guys,
For the price of an overrated movie, you can travel back in time for a night! I really can't believe it has been ten years since we graduated high school, but it has. It's gone by so fast! Some days I feel too young to be considered an adult and other days I feel 50 years old. :)  There are only a few more hours to get the discounted price for the reunion tickets. It ends today! If you know you are coming anyway, you might as well get on and register today to save yourself a few bucks. It's super easy!

I know the reunion isn't a classy formal expensive dinner at the Ritz or anything, but lets face it, if it was, half of us wouldn't be able to afford it right now! (or is that just me????) Just come for a casual night with old friends to reminisce about the past and discuss the present.

I know I'm excited to see people!! I hope you are too.
